Beluga Black Lentils or simply just Black Lentils are delicious lentils that pair brilliantly with fish or chicken and an array of other dishes and proteins. Being small, glossy and black, they resemble Beluga caviar, hence their namesake, and adopt an earthy and slightly nutty smell and flavour. Dense with nutrition, they are one of the healthiest lentils out there. Our Beluga Black Lentils are GMO-free with no added preservatives.
Without soaking, you can still use Black Lentils, and they will cook in about 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can soak the lentils first for an hour first to remove the reaming Saponin, which is a natural coating on a lot of seeds. A delicious addition to wraps, burgers, salads, soups, broths, dahl curries and more.
Store fresh Black Beluga Lentils in a secure and airtight container in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunshine.
