Organic Buckwheat Hulled

Our NZ-grown Hulled Buckwheat (groats) are the hulled seeds of the original buckwheat plant and have many similarities to steel-cut oats. They are a popular gluten-free breakfast option for many customers who are Coeliac or avoid gluten produce. These groats are pale in colour but turn richer and darker with roasting and have a soft flavour that can be enjoyed raw after soaking them. Hulled buckwheat can create an earthy, nutty and crunchy base for homemade muesli or granola and pairs great with a lot of different nuts, dried fruits, seeds or other breakfast foods.

Before eating raw Hulled Buckwheat, it is best to soak them in water overnight or at least for two hours before using them. After they are soaked, drain and rinse them and then they are ready to play with to make your recipes. You can blend them to break them down a bit and create a fantastic granola or porridge addition.

Store uncooked hulled Buckwheat in a secure and airtight container in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunshine.
