White Poppy Seeds (Khus Khus)
White poppy seeds, also known as Khus Khus (खसखस) in India, are a versatile pantry staple with a delicate, nutty flavour and subtle crunch. Popular in Indian and Asian cuisine, they can be used in both sweet and savoury dishes.
Sprinkle over breads, pastries and baked goods, or add to curries, sauces, salads and spice blends for extra texture and flavour.
Traditional Ayurvedic use: Khus Khus and black sesame seeds are traditionally valued as nourishing ingredients. For a simple everyday option, dry roast both seeds, grind into a powder and add 1 teaspoon to breakfast foods such as porridge, yoghurt or smoothies.
